Submit your views on the Draft Housing Strategy before 25 November 2019 to ensure MK Council has set out the right priorities and objectives for Milton Keynes.
Housing is entwined with the economic prosperity of Milton Keynes due to it being central to residents being able to live prosperous, healthy and happy lives.
Good housing is vital to the health and wellbeing of residents, and plays an important role in building and maintaining strong communities, and yet it is also recognised that not everyone in Milton Keynes can access affordable, sustainable and good quality housing at present.
The Housing Strategy provides a clear vision of how the Council and its stakeholders can achieve a shared aspiration in providing housing that meets the needs and requirements of Milton Keynes.
Pressures of a growing and aging population will create additional demand on housing which are important challenges the Housing Strategy must set out possible solutions to overcome.
MK Council's four priorities are:
- High quality placemaking, creating great places to live
- Increase the delivery of homes, including truly affordable housing, along with the infrastructure to meet housing need
- Ensure that everyone has access to appropriate, safe and secure housing that meets their needs
- Ensure high quality homes and landlord services
The consultation seeks the views of the public and other stakeholders on the Draft Housing Strategy, with a focus on ensuring that the right priorities and objectives are set out for Milton Keynes.
